When trying to slice the bridge walls in Cura 5.1.0 (files TST WL2 BDG1-M & TST WL1 BDG1-M) the slicing fails and it gives an error message "slicing failed with an unexpected error" but no further details as to why it failed to slice.
I'm sure there is nothing wrong with the stl's, all the TST stuff is top quality.
I found that if I move the item on the build plate it will sometimes slice it but sometimes won't. If I change the layer height to something other than 0.2 it slices.
Sometimes if I add another file it will slice sometimes not.
Very strange and I have no idea why this happens but I have managed to work around it and can hopefully print the files after current print finishes.
I am wondering if this is an issue that anyone else has encountered?
I'm also having these issues with the bridge files and as of right now with Outdoor floor tile number 3. It just wont slice on .12 or .2 layer height. but works great with .16
I've tried moving it around the build plate but that doesnt help. Cura version 5.2.1 I'll post again if I can find a solution.
Glad that I searched the forums, because I was getting this exact same glitch. I ended up just moving the file around on the print bed, and it sliced with no problem.
I think it has to do with Cura's slicing algorithm glitching. I've run into this issue a few times on the 1.5 cave walls or walls that have a lot of vertices. I kept Cura 5.0 installed and any models that have failed to slice in 5.1 have had no problem slicing in 5.0 so I think Cura changed something in their update.
Thanks for the fast response. I was able to slice the walls after doing a few things that I mentioned in original post so it isn't any real issue. If it happens with any other files I'll go for the reinstall, I just hope it doesn't erase saved profiles etc.
Thanks for the reply though.
Hi there. Those are very strange occurrences indeed! Can’t say I’ve ever encountered that myself. Have you tried doing a fresh install of Cura?
