Hi All,
Thought it was about time I shared some of my builds in here with like minded folks.
I built out Gloomhaven Square B, which is one of my favourite scenarios to both play and recreate. There's a really unique and fun special rule to this one (I won't spoil for those who haven't played it, though I expect most have as its one of the early 'fork in the road' scenarios in terms of aligning yourself with good or evil).
I took some poetic licence with the layout in terms of using a market/town area instead of a manor, and the elevation in the Keep area, but all in the name of creating a fun and interesting aesthetic. In the Keep area we just have to keep in mind that hex adjacency still occurs, even if you're elevated, which can look a bit weird getting melee attacked from down/upstairs, but it's not difficult to track.
I've recently discovered 'Light My Bricks', usually a lego-centric company, that provides lighting componentry for illuminating lego builds. They're trying to ply their trade with generic tabletop gamers for terrain, and I was really impressed with the stuff I've experimented with. No soldering/resistors/batteries, just plug into USB and daisy chain everything from there. Just be warned the wiring and components are TINY, it can be a bit fiddly plugging/unplugging them but it gets easier once you get the hang of it. The wires are super thin and flexible so can easily be routed in, around and under hexes to where you need it. I've just been using blu-tac to stick each light in place.
Great to see a bit more activity in here lately, I'm glad a few of you are starting to post builds and ask/answer questions, please keep it up and I'll also try and be a bit more active in here.
Jeff and I have been prepping like mad for our third Kickstarter, there's been lots of test printing and painting of Tundra and Steampunk designs, we hope to lock in a launch date in the very near future very soon!
